Well there's the Remington Ceramic Wet and Dry one... and then there's the Maxiglide - but it cost like 70.00 and up (but its well worth the buy) it uses steam to heat the hair without burning the hair folicle, and it has great results (no frizzies)

What you can do is buy a Styling PiK Attachment for your hairdryer, then once you comb your hair on a medium heat setting, then it should be straight enough to either flat iron it or curl it with a barrel curler (the best for my hair)

A good product to use when straightening your hair is the John Frieda Wind Down (perhaps in the purple bottle for your type of hair) and you can blowdry it straight quicker!!

Good luck....

Helen of Troy. It's the best straightener you can buy at a department store without special ordering.

Walmart has the Remington Ceramic (I think it is called wet or dry) model for about $27.00. The same model sells elsewhere for double that. the ceramic one is better for the hair.

I would recommend investing in a professional straightener. Professional straighteners use better technology to protect your hair. Also using a good product to protect your hair from the heat is key. I really love the Chi straightener from farouk. Infrashine is another good one. They are probably pricier than you would like but they will work. Ask you hair stylist what he or she recommends and find a good heat protectant product.
