My BF has problems with his facial hair when shaving?

Ok his hair like everywhere grows really really fast, so it breaks him out (dandruff on head, and irritation on face). His facial hair also gets a lot of ingrown hairs too. The biggest problem is this, when he shaves his skin gets SO dryed out that it looks like dandruff on his face, also when he shaves he gets these nasty bump looking irritation thingys on his face. Poor thing WHAT will he do?!?! If he lets it grow out (which he閳ユ獨 tried) then it閳ユ獟l only make the ingrown hairs on his face get worse and he still breaks out with those nasty bumps. HELP HIM!!! (and yes he does use a moisturizer but it wears off in the middle of the day and looks all dry again)

Buy a Boars Head Bristle Brush.

Don't shave for a week.

Every day brush in a downward direction and don't shave.

This will grow the beard out nicely, with all the pores facing in the same direction.

Make sure to brush downward, since this is how we are going to shave, in a downward direction.

OKay.. Now we have a good place to start shaving.

First shave is a big deal, it will take almost twenty minutes, so don't do tthis without adequate time.

You will need two terry cloth facial towels. Soak them HOT water.

A can of BARBASOL, shaving cream. Strong Mint.

Several SINGLE edge razors from Bic. Orange and White.

Have your BF. lie down and wrap his jaw, face and area to be shaved with a pretty hot, but not unbearable wet towel. Just leave his nose poking out so he can breathe. leve this towel there for about three minutes or five minutes, then take it off, and place the other towel on the same way. This hot water is soaking the pores and opening the pores up and softening the hairs on the face.

Then apply the shaving cream, thick and heartily. Let that soak in as well, for three or four minutes.

Wash it off.

Brush downward one last time.

Apply shaving cream again.

Run single edge razor under hot water and in a deliberate and forceful action begin to shave the cheeks. As the razor fills and clogs with hair sitch them for fresh ones, and drop the clogged ones in the sink. It would work nicely if he shaves, and hands the razors to you to clean under the running hot water.

the idea is to have the sharpest blades free of impedements.

Then do the moustache and around the lips.

-finally the chin and the underlip and the neck.

-splash hot water and refresh, washing the face clean.

Go back and pick up all the stray hairs and missed spots.

Make sure to NEVER go AGAINST the grain. That's what causes razor bumps.

after shaving while face is moist, red and sore.

Splash Witchhazel generously.

wait a minute, then splash more.

Do not touch his face, and advice him not to either for at least an hour, while the micro-abrasions dry. This is another cause of razorbumps.

He should apply more witch hazel in an hour.

He should ALWAYS carry his Boars-Bristle Brush and Brush his Head and face repeatedly all day. Only stopping if he has an open sore. In which case brush around it.

Once his face is bare, he should always brush his five-o-clock shadows downwards.

Tee-tree oil and witch hazel are great for these minor skin problems.

Brush the dandruff away and apply small amounts of tee tree oil on the head. Use witch hazel on the face.

good luck.,

I suggest he look into getting a few laser hair removal treatments. Even two or three treatments will kill a lot of his facial hair and leave the rest a lot thinner and easier to manage. This will make it easier for his razor to glide smoothly across his skin. He should use a moisturizing shave gel (fragrance-free if possible) when shaving, and use a fresh razor blade EVERY time. Before shaving, he should use an exfoliating glove to gently exfoliate his face and lift ingrown hairs to the surface. If he follows these steps, he'll notice a difference in no time.

EDIT: You can get laser hair removal just on the parts you want to go away- the laser tip is very small (maybe one centimeter squared).
