How can I get my hair to look like this? (picture included)?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v338/f...

I would like my hair to look like this.

I have two curling irons, i really small one and the other one is really big.

The small one makes my hair way to curly no matter how long i keep my hair in it and the big one doesn't do anything at all because it's just too big.

Are there any tricks to get my hair looking like this?

This is all considering that you have long hair like the picture.

Shampoo your hair, followed by conditioner (especially if your hair tend to be dry). If your hair tends to be oily, it isnt necessary to condition...it may hinder the curls "hold", especially if your hair is straight.

Most times, the best way to get long hair to have loose curls that hold is to use rag rollers made from sheets or material cut or ripped into strips. After your hair is washed, conditioned, and moisturized if necessary, dry until just damp. Section off and wrap medium sized pieces around the strips and then pin them to your head LOOSELY. If you twist them too tight then you will get tight spiral curls.

Also, I find that using the barrel rollers will work better to gain the loose curl. Curling irons are great in a pinch, and you hear of celebrities using them in magazines etc. The shows on E! and celebrity magazines tend to highlight the use of large rollers and a blow dryer to get those tousled locks. Do as I stated above and then section off pieces and wrap them around the rollers or even fruit juice cans. Blow dry until COMPLETELY dry. Undo the curlers and you will find that the curl starts lower because of how far off your head the barrel curves to begin with. Your look will be a little more refined and consistent.

With either protocol, once you remove the curlers/rollers (working from the base of your skull up to the top), DO NOT just run your fingers through them or you may create static and frizzies, YUK!. Loosly seperate in sections and then spray with (I suggest) Catwalk Camera Ready shine spray to keep the frizzies at bay and to give a look of glam. Some of the other sprays that you would use for after flatironing will wilt loose curls so beware using them.

If you are going out on the town, I would use a blast of hairspray (I use Big Sexy Hair)...but sparingly so as not to incourage helmet hair. Or even a flexible hold hairspray...although (ugh) I DO think aerosol is best for the job.

ANyhow, I hope this helps. I own great curling irons, and they do get lots of use...but for loose sexy curls, I find going back to the basics works the best. :)

you might haver to get a medium sized curling iron and after you curl it run your fingers trhough your hair to relax and stretch out the curls....but then again i have a relaxer on my hair...try it and see if it works

A larger curling iron would be your best bet. The small one wouldnt work too well since the curls would come out wayy too small. For your big curling iron, are you getting all your hair in there? If not, it'll just flip up the ends. Also, does it have a heat setting? If so, maybe if you need to turn it up. Otherwise, try using gel, moose, or hairspray. Wrap as much hair as possible in your large curling iron and spray it with hairspray or rub gel or moose over it (without burning yourself of course!) and holding it there until it is mostly dry. If none of this works, you can get a new curling iron for pretty cheap. You never mentioned just how big your curling iron is but anything around 1.5 inches should do. :) If all else fails, I suppose you could try getting a round brush and blow drying your hair into that style (wet your hair, twirl it in the brush, and use a blow dryer on it until it's dry) or by doing it the old fashion way using rollers, hot rollers are usually more efficient. It helps if you've just dried your hair as well. You could also use a hair straightener but it's much more complicated and takes quite a bit of practice. I usually just twirl the straightener though my hair and apparently the bigger the twirls, the looser the curls but so far, Ive only managed to create little curls... so I couldnt tell you too much on that.. Hope this helps! Good luck!

The best way to get that look is with a round brush or rollers you don't need to keep the curls perfect just roll them away from your face and run your fingers through them to loosen them up into waves. Make sure you put some sort of volume booster or texture spray in it before you blow dry. If you don't have that you can just use some moose. Another harder option which is the way I do it is use a chi iron to curl all of the hair going back away from your face but it is a little complicated to create the curls with the flat iron you will need someone to teach you! Good luck it is a pretty hairstyle!

Well her hair is cut around the front to accent around her face then flipped back with a medium to large round brush depending on how well your hair takes curl. Apply a decent gel such as Biolage Gelee to wet hair than blow dry wrapped around the brush away from the face. If you have say a one inch barrel iron that actually curls your hair and not a cheap iron, you can get this, then spray with hairspray while hot! then wait till curl is cold then finger comb it into a lose curl. This also works. Mousse gives you volume and light hold. A liquid gel will give you more hold and last longer. You can also mix a mixture of mousse and then drop a dollop of gel in the center and mix it in your hand and apply... this works if you have a finer texture hair that is hard to work with. Hope this helps..
