How to get my hair permanently straight?

I went to toni n guy yesterday and they said it would cost 鎷?25 to have my hair relaxed but I would still have to straighten it. Has anyone had this done and have you noticed good results or didn't it do very much? they said this afro carabbien place did hair chemical hair straightning that makes it stay straight even after washing it and that's kind of what I want but will this cost more? I just want some advice before I decide because i've made an appoitment already to have it relaxed but im starting to wonder if 鎷?25 will really make a big diffrence on my hair.

the best straightening method is supposed to be Japanese hair straightening or thermal straightening which involves chemical and ironing to make the hair super straight even after you wash it, this procedure is really expensive and i asked my stylist for a really honest opinion on it. He said it wasnt worth it because it causes more breakage in the long run, especially after touchups and its so expensive every time, you also have to do a test strand before the treatment and if your hair is too fragile a stylist wont do the procedure. Its important to find someone who is trained really well in the Thermal Straightening because it is relatively new, long and somewhat complicated process.

But.... if time and money is not an issue, it might be a really thing to try:

If you have virgin hair ( never been treated chemically) it may not cause as much damage as regular straightning and then having to heat style w/ a blow dryer and flat iron everyday. Or the damage might be the same. It sure would cut down on time in the morning to just wash and go. If you give the thermal straightening a try you can always get regular trims for split ends and use a good recontructor. My stylist told me to use Joico products which i love, He only sells Bumble and bumble products in his salon so when he recommended another brand, i knew he was giving me a good tip.

Well I know that my balck friend "perms" her hair and it gets straight. I "perm" my white girl hair and it gets curly. If you have very curly hair I would go to a typically balck salon and see what they can do for you. They are much more used to dealing with curly hair than us white folk. I know that counds horribly racists, but there really isn't a way to differientate the white and black in a politically correct way, and why should we bother. I am beige and she is brown.

Ask them if they have some customers who've had this procedure that you could talk to in order to find out how well it works.

Nothing will be permanent. You cannot permanently change your hair's growth tendencies. Find out how often you need to redo it and then figure out if it fits your budget.

my boyfriend had his hair chemically straightened by toni and guy. it worked really really well. his hair is naturally wavy and frizzy. he does use a straightening iron to get the spots the chemical missed (some spots react better to the chemical than others. same with hair dying), but its a dramatic difference before and after chemically straightening. you can wash your hair and it will still be straight. to aid in the effects, he uses a shampoo that is designed for straightening hair and keeping frizzies away. he likes the TiGi brand.

a side note, you will have to go in and get it re-done every few months because your hair will grow out, and the new hair will not be straight.

also, the chemical dries out your hair (so does straightening with an iron), so invest in some conditoner too.
