How can i make my hair softer and straighter without a straightening iron?

I have big waves in my hair.It makes my side bangs stick out and there is a wavy at my ear and another at the tips of my hair by my shoulders.I want to know if i can get my hair straighter without any straighting iron.My friend told me to try blow drying it and running my fingers through it and that made it less puffy.If i let my hair air dry it goes really wavy in those 3 spots.I can't get a perm(moms rules) so does anyone have ideas.

My hair is exactly the same! It drives me crazy too! I finally found a combination that works to straighten my hair. First I use the John Frieda straightening hair serum. You put it on your hair right out of the shower and comb it through. Then I usually let my hair partially air dry. Once it gets about halfway dry, I use another product by VO5, called Miracle!. I have to dry my hair in layers as it is VERY thick. I clip up half my hair, spray the Miracle! on and then blow dry with a big, round, vented brush. You have to actually pull on the brush and hold your hair straight while you are blow drying. I do this in sections for the underneath layer, then take the top layer out of the clip, spray on the product and do the same for the top. It is awesome! It really does work and makes your hair soft, shiny and straight! Hope this helps!

my hair is just like yours and i use the herbal essence dangerously straight products. it works pretty well but its not completely straight but straight enough that its ok. use the shampoo %26amp; conditioner then the mouse when your hair is damp after your shower is a big help and makes me hair a lot straighter. and anywhere else that still curls up i just use a flat iron. it makes your hair really soft too.

Well there is a special shampoo and conditioner (two-in-one) that is really really helpful. It is by John Freida; and it says 'STRAIGHT HAIR'... it contains non-harmful chemicals for getting the strands rigid. You can use that to make it straighter (it gets rid of frizzies even) and you can use ExtRa conditioner to make your hair softer. It is very effective, trust me.

Pantene has a new line of stuff out now that you can use before you blow dry or frizeze is good and try using a paddle brush in order to pull the curl out. If your hair is like mine you get curl where there are layers, and as soon as you hit humidity it curls back anyway. WHat helps me more than anything is a cut that works with the curl. There are tons of magazines and online sites that have hair styles you just have to look for one with a little curl and something that you can work with.
