Bald spot in front of hair line. Please help!?

My problem started about a year ago (last ausgust) when I decided to dye my hair a really dark color with the Loreal Color Spa dye. As soon as I rinsed my hair alot of hair fell off, I was surprised! But my mom told me it was normal. It continued to fall in clumps everytime I showered. On November I noticed a very small bald spot in front of my hairline. It continued to grow as big as a dime/quarter counting the thin hair by it, even bigger since its not just circular it strectches to another bald patch strip. It has remain the same size for a few months but has not fill in or looks like it will anytime soon. I see very sparse thin hair coming out but that's it. Its has stop falling out so much but the big spot is still there. I also noticed my hair got thinner from the temples. I don't have the money to see a dermotologist right now. I am saving up. What can I do it the mean time? Does anyone know any remedies? I'm too young to deal with this....it is depressing.

Do you have a health plan? If so call them and they could refer you to a dermatologist for very cheap.. I pay like 5 dollars whenever i go lol but if you dont i really dont know what to say and you could always try parting your hair to the side and covering it. Not only will you be covering it but it can also be very stylish too. Like side bangs or something! Sorry hun this is the best I could do. Good luck!

Mash a small avocado until there are no clumps, then add 2 tablespoons of Kraft mayonnaise + 1 egg + 1 teaspoon of olive oil. Mix everything really well, then add that mixture on your hair from root to ends, making sure each strand is covered, cover with a plastic cap. Leave it on your hair for at least one hour. Rinse, then shampoo and condition as usual. Do that treatment before each shampoo, all breaking/shedding will stop. Massage some coconut oil on the bald spot as well. Good luck to you! It really works.

ok so I let my mom give me a hair cut today since she's in beauty school and learning to become a barber. But then after the hair cut I noticed two bad things that happened to my hair. One my hairline is totally uneven and is noticable. And two, this is the biggest problem, there is like a bald spot in my hair that is pretty big and totally noticable. Can you please tell me how to resolve these problems? Also how long do you think I would have to wait for my hair to get fixed? And also just a random question do girls even care about a guys hair?

Not to put a damper on things, but, as a girl, I have to. A guys hair is one of the first things a girl looks at. It tells whether or not the guy is clean and kept. So, naturally, you have a problem. First, NEVER LET YOUR MOM CUT YOUR HAIR EVER EVER EVER AGAIN. Second, go to a barber shop where some of your friends get their hair cut, and see what they can do.

One rule of thumb with a new cut is to give it three days and see if you have problems, you've already noticed a couple so it's time to speak up.

Show your mom what you mean, see if she's got any ideas. Up front and honest isn't bad when it's your mom's reputation that's going to be riding around on your head. She wants to be proud of her work so it's important for you to let her know what's going on.

It's not always easy to say there's a problem but if you're probably going to be asked to sit more than once and if you go somewhere else she will know and be hurt.

Give her a chance to do something, then if it doesn't work use another barber.

2 Hot Oil Treatments by Alberto v05 and Smooth 'n Shine 60 second critical repair. I also bought 3 "Seville Orange moisture miracle" but the girl on the cover is white so I know its safe for my hair.

Personally, I really like Joico's K-Pak shampoo %26amp; conditioner when my hair needs TLC. I also like Pantene conditioners a lot.

BTW, I tried John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette products %26amp; found they left my hair feeling stringy and a little dry.

Personally I have had no experience with black hair care products, which is why I say ask a professional and if they say that they are safe to use in your type of hair then go for it. Yes. You can use black haircare products, as far as shampoo and conditioner, on your hair. Anything else wouldn't do any good for your hair. All you are doing is switching shampoo. Of course you can use that stuff on your hair. Conditioner is conditioner is conditioner no matter who it's marketed toward. My advice to you is to use the best products you can afford because they do have a better quality of ingredients than the $1.99 drugstore brand.

I like Matrix biolage hydrotherapie shampoo, conditioner etc. If I don't feel like going to my salon to buy some I get Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise (great deep conditioner) and Pantene's Relaxed and Natural shampoo.

I've never tried any of the other products you bought personally, except for the hot oil treatments and they worked well. I think I could have gotten the same affect from putting warmed olive oil in my hair and letting it sit with a shower cap on my head for15 minutes.

Sidenote: I'm black my husband is white and he uses my shampoo and conditioner and his hair is shiny, smooth.

Ok first you probably need a hair cut, just to get rid of your split ends that you have, you can't fix those any other way. After that I suggest a trip to a Sally Beauty Supply they have a line that only they sell called Beyond the Zone, the Last Call Hair Mask, and leave in conditioner are two of the best products i can find on the market that are not super expensive that work well.

Erm ... I think you should ask your stylist ... Im not sure .. black people have got drier haid and most products strengthen the hair and locks in moisture... It should be fine ... but speak to your stylist to be sure ... products for caucasion hair dries out my hair cos I need moisture, it might be the other way around and u might end up with greasy hair?

If she is just looking for more volume, then 3/4" will work well. You might want to try and see how well it holds for the week. I know that some hair textures will relax quicker then others, so then she could end up with flat hair. If she wants it to last a whole week then use the 1/2". After it is set, brush it out and tease it. She will get both volume and curl.

Now if she will be setting her hair ever day or every other day, then just use 3/4".

Use the medium size magnetic rollers. Large is 1 1/2" so the medium will be perfect. The plastic magnetic rollers are perfect for dry set or wet set. That is what I use.

you can go to a beauty supply store and purchase a hair straightener, you comb it through for so many minutes then rinse out , u can also buy a moisturizer shampoo , those are great for frizzy hair and better for your or anyones hair, if you look on the back of a shampoo you bought at a store chances are it has alcohol in the ingredients and alcohol is bad for the hair. you said your hair breaks off when you straight iron it, moisturizer shampoo will help relieve some damage but they have products for hair breakage just make sure alcohol is not in the ingredients, i hope this help you out, i was frizzy once too but now I'm not

some good products are sleek%26amp;shine serum, and smoothing milk by garnier fructis. also, put in a tiny bit of garnier fructis shine wax before and after you blowdry so it won't frizz out.

I have thick wavy hair, too and it does take forever to dry. I don't know if this will help or if you have done it but, as soon as I am done showering I have an extra towel, and I put my hair up like in a "turban" with it and let the towel soak up some of the water while I do someting else before I blow dry it.
